I learned to swim when I was at primary school in Curacao. To keep myself in shape, I joined a swimming association which introduced me to competitive swimming. When I came to the Netherlands to study Laboratory, I continued competing in swimming tournaments at an international level. After lots of practice and training I learned to find the balance between discipline and the joy of swimming. I became a certified swim coach in 1998. Currently, I am studying for my truckdrivers’ license and in my spare time, I also practice fitness and salsa dancing.


Coaching Style

I have my own structured way to organize my sessions and help every student to improve their level in an efficient way. My aim is that all students feel gain and worth their time. I like to inspire people by reminding them that their goals in swimming are within their reach. I always want to keep them motivated by showing them what they have already achieved. Although a session only has 45minutes in the pool, I can use our time very well, so my students go home very satisfied and proud with their progress.


I am great in motivating people who are scared to learn to swim. I always try to make them feel safe and secure.  My favorite strokes to teach are front strokes and butterfly strokes since I used to excel in these strokes myself

If you cannot swim at all and are fearful and/or challenged in water generally.

You took classes before and   failed or it has been a  very long time ago. 

Stroke Improvers

If you can float and swim but are afraid of deep water.

You can swim but are complete exhausted after swimming a short distance. 


If you have no issues in  deep water and able to swim more than  200m without getting exhausted.

You want to become fitter and stronger and swimming is your weekly workout.
