Profile

I grew up surrounded by water from a very young age. Having a mom who was a national swimmer, water and swimming have always been a huge part of my life. After I finished school, I took a gap year and trained school children at a summer camp. My mom also gave swimming lessons at a special needs home in South Africa which I was lucky enough to be a part of.  In 2014, I completed my swim coaching course. In addition, I swam for South Africa from the age of 8 years-old until 13 when I was injured during a water polo match. Learning to swim gives you confidence around water, which is very important, especially being surrounded by so much of it in The Netherlands.

In addition to my swimming career, I also specialize in administration and logistics in the automotive industry.

Coaching Style

I strongly believe that if someone really wants something, they will need to work for it. In my case, I always want to see my students achieve their goal and therefore I will give 110% to each person to help them succeed. However, I cannot do it without their determination. I encourage my students to remember why they started learning and what their goal is. Communication is so important and that is why I take a personalized approach to each person as we are all different. Learning does not have to be boring, so I always look at adding some fun to the session!

Specialities

I am confident coaching all groups of students, from beginner to advanced. I love showing advanced swimmers’ corrective strokes, helping them go further and be more confident with swimming. My favorite strokes are breaststroke and butterfly.

“Work hard in silence, let success make the noise.”
