About Katerina

“If you won’t try something, you will never discover the magical world hiding behind it!”

From the age of 3, my mom took me to my first swimming lesson. It’s a sport that fit me perfectly! I kept on returning to the swimming pool for many years to come. Swimming is a huge part of my life, my friends always say that probably I was a traumatized fish without scales in my previous life because in this one when I enter the water I always forget to get out. Water is everywhere in our lives and being able to enjoy it by swimming is one of the biggest gifts in life!

Worked in education and hotel management most of my life. Now I am here in Amsterdam to have a new start in life and a new professional path in hotel management.

Coaching Style

As adults, we’ve already spent a lot of years studying and learning new sports, gaining new knowledge etc., all through different sources. It’s important to be open and listen to what your students want, and accept their individual learning needs. Every adult learns in a different way. All we need to remember is that every step we make is important, and I always encourage my students to congratulate themselves on every small or big thing they achieve. It counts more than we can imagine!

Certifications

  • Bachelor in preschool education
  • Bachelor in Performing Arts and Theater
  • Master in Children and Teenager Literature
  • Bachelor in Hospitality and Hotel Management
  • Was a competitive swimmer until the age of 16.

Specialities

I use a different approach for each student (at every age) and always get individual results from each one. It’s the same in any educational field. You need to be open to your student’s individual needs and organize your teaching approach accordingly.

“Rise and Shine! Everybody should be able to enjoy the water!”.”
