Nationality: South African

In the Netherlands since: March 2021

Languages: English, Afrikaans and a little Dutch

Profile:

Sports have been integral to my life since childhood. Growing up with a swimming pool, we spent most of our weekends in the water. I believe that swimming is a skill every adult and child should have the chance to acquire.

Coaching Style:

Knowledge is power, if you can break down the exercise into simple steps it’s easier to understand the skill. Teach by showing and listening to the swimmer. Encourage and dote on the positives.

Certifications:

  • Babies to adult Learn to swim and stroke correction
  • Self-rescue certification
  • Degree in psychology
  • Certificates in Pilates and massage therapy

My swimming achievements:

  • Midmar mile (1 mile dam swim)
  • Half iron man triathlon

Specialties:

I enjoy teaching the strokes, its rewarding for the swimmer when they have this beautiful style and can confidently swim from one end of the pool to another.

“Some people feel the rain others just get wet.”
