Profile:
I grew up in Germany, where my love for water began in childhood. I was fortunate to have swimming lessons every school year, which allowed me to develop my skills early on. One teacher, a passionate competitive swimmer, left a lasting impression on me by offering extra technique lessons. At just 11 years old, I eagerly attended every session.
Over the years, I worked diligently to maintain my swimming abilities and enjoyed assisting friends and family in improving their techniques. This passion for swimming inspired me to become a swimming instructor.
Currently, I work at the municipality of The Hague, where I live with my partner and teenage son. Also, in my free time, I love hiking in the Alps, and one of my greatest joys is diving into cool water after a long day of exploration.

Coaching Style:
Swimming becomes truly enjoyable when you are relaxed and confident in the water. To achieve this, it’s essential to learn proper swimming techniques. Strength and athleticism are not requirements for learning to swim; rather, comfort and control are key. This is what we will focus on at the start.
My role as an instructor is to ensure that each swimmer feels at ease in the water while gently encouraging them to take their next steps in their swimming journey. I am patient with my students and find great enthusiasm in witnessing their progress and improvements.
Swimming Certifications, Achievements, & Recognitions:
- KNZB Rescue Swimming 2023
- Zwemdiploma B in 2023
- Since August 2023 I have followed a course at Swim England to become a Certified Swimming Teacher.
Specialties:
Breaststroke is my favorite swimming style, but I enjoy teaching all the strokes. I strive to analyze each student’s technique, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
I believe that progress often lies in the details, so I focus on one aspect at a time to help my students enhance their skills effectively.
