Profile:
Growing up in Amsterdam, a city surrounded by water, swimming became a natural part of my life. I started at the age of 5, and by 7, I had earned my C diploma. From there, I ventured into the competitive side of the sport, and my love for swimming has stayed with me ever since.
While studying to become a teacher, I discovered how much joy I find in coaching and helping others learn new skills. Combining my passion for swimming with my love of teaching felt like the perfect fit, and that’s what inspired me to become a swim instructor.
Outside of teaching, I work part-time as a bartender and dedicate a lot of time to staying active in the gym.
Coaching style:
I like to make sure all my students are comfortable in the water. When something feels like its not progressing, we break it down and work on it step by step.
I believe everyone has a different learning style and through trial and error we find out what suits the student best. My ultimate goal as a coach is to make sure my students enter a body of water with a sense of relaxation and complete control.
Swimming Certifications, Achievements, & Recognitions:
- Lifeguard CE1 NRZ (2024)
- Educator swim-ABC CE3 NRZ (2024)
- Medic & Fire First Aid (2024)
- Zwemdiploma C (2023)
Specialties:
I like to work with students who are able to swim, but are not yet fully confident in their abilities. And students who like to make their strokes more energy efficient.
“Swimming isn’t just about strokes and speed—it’s about building confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love for the water.”
