Pool location: Amsterdam

Profile:

“Imagine being capable of something you didn’t imagine that you could.”

I grew up in Holstebro, a small town in Denmark. Growing up, I wasn’t interested in what most people were. Gymnastics and football are two examples. I enjoyed water and swimming, which led to my participation in national championships. I quit Swimming due to an injury. But I’ve volunteered to teach swimming to people with intellectual disabilities and children because I want to help and share the joy I have for swimming with others while also ensuring they have an amazing experience. Swimming is a great hobby and sport for people of all ages, and everyone is welcome to come talk with me and join my classes, as I would love to share my personal experience to help individuals who want to advance their swimming or just start learning to swim, as swimming is a great and fun skill to have. When I am not working as a coach, I study full-time Political Science at the University of Amsterdam.

Coaching style:

Swimming, I believe, is a valuable skill to acquire because it welcomes everyone, regardless of age or adversity, and it can improve individuals by pushing their boundaries or expanding their social horizons to believe in themselves. However, in order to push your boundaries and so on, we must enjoy what we are doing while also striving to improve. I will use various creative methods to improve regardless of swimming level, such as creating different plays or using fun tools in my coaching to have an enjoyable learning experience at the same time.

Swimming Certifications, Achievements, & Recognitions:

- KNZB Rescue Skills 2023
- I have competed at international and national level for 3 years.

Specialties:

Since the backstroke has always been closest to me, it is especially important for me to learn how to swim on the back. I have experience in teaching kids and individuals with intellectual disabilities, by introducing them to water and how it can be fun experience and skill to have. I’ve worked with every type of group as well, from beginners in the water to advanced swimmers, and I’ve worked very well with each of them.

“In the water, you’re capable of more than you know.”

- ALL YOU NEED IS THE FIRST STEP, WE'L TAKE CARE OF THE REST! -
