Profile:
I grew up in Woerden alongside the water ‘de Oude Rijn’. At summers this was a lovely place to swim and play in the water. In my twenties, I wanted to join an annual triathlon which is held in the same waters. That was the time swimming came to me as a sport. Now residing in Rotterdam, I still have a passion for outdoor swimming and I deeply enjoy coaching others how to swim.
I live with my partner in Rotterdam. At daytime I work at the office as a software tester.
Coaching style:
Most important for swim lessons is to have fun. That could be different for all of us. Some like to dive, others like to be fast or want to go for a long distance. And everyone of us has a favorite stroke. We first need to work on the basic skills. And after a session hard work I might ask you; “Is there something you like to do?”
Specialties:
As a coach I like to explain to my students what we are working on and what step in the swimming journey we are on. Why is it important to work on the thing we do?
My aim is to teach you the basic skills for swimming and to work towards your diploma. And I hope to inspire you to continue doing your favorite thing in the water.
“If you really want something and it doesn’t work the first time, it’s best to try again.“
