Profile:
I started swimming at a very young age, and it quickly became a major part of my life as I joined a competitive swim team and also joined my school swim team. After graduating high school, I had to step back from swimming to focus on academics. Recently, I began coaching because I found myself missing the sport and being in that environment. I love being in the water—it’s both relaxing and beautiful, and I’m always at the beach or by the pool (when the weather is nice). I believe swimming is an essential life skill, but beyond that, it’s simply fun and calming to be immersed in the water.
I am a Psychology student at Leiden University
Coaching style:
My coaching approach is all about creating a supportive and fun environment where everyone feels encouraged to challenge themselves. I like to break down skills into simple steps and celebrate those small wins along the way. Keeping things engaging is key, so I set clear, achievable goals and tailor lessons to each person’s needs, making sure everyone feels a sense of progress and excitement. Above all, I focus on having fun while learning and highlight the importance of persistence!
Swimming Certifications, Achievements, and Recognitions:
Represented my school in regional competitions throughout middle and high school
Specialties:
I really enjoy working on technique, as it can make a huge difference in a swimmer’s performance. My favorite strokes to focus on are front crawl and back crawl; there’s something so satisfying about perfecting the mechanics and seeing how it enhances speed and efficiency in the water.
