Profile:
Living near the ocean in Florida, I learned how to swim by the age of two. The water, be it in the pool, ocean or lake, has always been present in my daily life growing up as I spent every possible chance to swim. In addition, playing other sports such as lacrosse also gave me the opportunity to become an assistant coach and the skills to help beginners gain confidence in starting a new journey.
I am a newly graduated student from my undergraduate degree in International Studies.
Coaching style:
I aim to encourage each individual by working on their personal strengths and weaknesses through providing demonstrations and various explanations if the concept or exercise isn’t clear.
I plan to give positive reinforcement and encourage the swimmers to engage in growing one stroke at a time. Through practice, I want these swimmers to not only know each stroke, but to be confident in swimming each stroke with accuracy, and paying attention to detail. Through mastering these skills, our swimmers will become confident and have fun in the water.
Swimming Certifications, Achievements, & Recognitions:
- Competitive swimmer, completed survival swim lessons around the age 2.
Specialties:
I am confident in working with swimmers that have a grasp and some formed foundation of water confidence and stroke knowledge. However, as I hope to grow with the team, I will gain more expertise in training individuals with very basic knowledge to address the main priorities to swim safely.
