Nationality: Dutch

Living in The Netherlands since: Born and raised
Languages: Dutch & English

Profile:
Like most kids in the Netherlands, I received my first real swimming lessons at school when I was around eight years old. Since I enjoyed being in the water, I joined the Rotterdamse Reddings Brigade (lifeguard) and began assisting with swimming lessons at age 12. I completed all available certifications, including Instructor Level 3, and have been an instructor and coach (volunteer) ever since. In addition to my volunteer work, I have a full-time job in the IT sector.
Coaching style:
I believe in making complex concepts easy for my students by providing step-by-step instructions. Giving positive feedback with enthusiasm not only to boost morale but to also highlight their results. While focusing on individual needs, I also strive to foster a sense of group cohesion. This approach enhances the learning process and motivates swimmers to keep showing up.
Swimming Certifications, Achievements, & Recognitions:
Fully certified Instructor level 3 and ENVOZ, including first aid and CPR.
Specialties:
I am proficient in teaching all strokes, except Butterfly (we don’t use Butterfly as a lifeguard).
“Swimming is an essential skill that you should learn. Besides that, it is fun!”
