- Look down at the bottom of the pool, not up ahead of you. This will keep your head and upper body in the correct position to remain streamline. It will also help you to stay horizontal and keep your legs up.
- Keep your legs relaxed and flexible to allow you to kick from the hips, not from upper body or from the knee. Do keep your feet relaxed but toes pointed.
- Use your arms to pull yourself through the water. The arms push water back, past your hip and pull you forward.
