About Ilona

I grew up in Hungary, where swimming is the national sport. I knew how to swim before I knew how
to walk hence, I did baby swimming. I never swam professionally, as a kid, I entered a few
competitions, but not anything serious. Swimming takes a huge place in my family life because when
my family is home in Budapest we meet at the swimming pool to swim together every Sunday.
Nowadays, I’m in the water mostly because of surfing which I love. Swimming is also a form of
therapy for me, it takes a huge part on the upkeep of my mental health. I have never taught
swimming before and I’m learning how to become a coach at the moment from the lovely team here.
I am exited about the journey to become a couach so I can share my love for swimming.

I study Biology and Biomedical sciences at Amsterdam University College I’m a third year bachelor
student. I aim to become a Marine Biologist one day.

Coaching Style

I just started the learning process to become a coach so I do not have strategies or approaches yet. I
would love to share my love and passion towards swimming with others, because swimming is
healing for your mind and for you body.

Certifications

I thought first aid from 2014-2017 for teachers. During my training I also completed a swimming firsd
aid course in 2016.
