Once I had learned how to swim, I embarked on my swimming career by playing water polo and doing competitive swimming. When I was 15 years-old, my swim team asked me to start teaching swimming to small children and that is how it all began! I completed my training at the KNZB (Royal Dutch Swimming Association) and have been swimming for at least 18 years. In addition to my career in the water, I am also currently studying to be a physics teacher.

Coaching Style:

My typical approach is to encourage students to swim as much as possible and I want them to keep practicing as much as they can. I try to keep learners motivated  by teaching them something new every class.

Entering the deep end of the pool for the first time can be daunting. I use a range of techniques to help students overcome their nerves and learn to swim confidently in deep water.

”Don’t breathe the water, we don’t have gills.”
